Carlsberg is probably the best beer in the world! The company was founded in 1847 by J.C. Jacobsen, who named it after his son, Carl, and the Valby Hill (“bjerg” in Danish), where the brewery was built. The founder brewed his beer using a yeast that became the basis for many modern-day lagers. In fact, almost all modern-day lagers are derived from the original yeast, Saccharomyces Carlsbergensis. The goal of J.C. Jacobsen was to develop the art of making beer to the highest possible degree of perfection and to assist in keeping the brewing of beer in this country on a high and honorable level.
As a result of his dedication and innovation, Carlsberg is today one of the biggest beer companies in the world, regarded as the Danish beer par excellence, with presence in more than 50 countries. Carlsberg is light, easy drinking and refreshing.
The all malt recipe and Carlsberg yeast strain gives a perfect balance between body and depth of flavor, making Carlsberg the ideal choice for any occasion.

Chimay is one of the rare and few authentic Trappist beers in the world, meaning that is elaborated inside a Trappist monastery, under the control and responsibility of the community of monks. The brewery was founded inside Scourmont Abbey, in the Belgian municipality of Chimay in 1862, and produces four widely distributed ales and a patersbier exclusively for the monks. The uniqueness of the beer, made following a secret recipe unaltered over the decades, resides in the purity of the Abbey well water, and in use of an own home-grown yeast strain. This special yeast is the key ingredient, which gives the beer its typical character and aromas, today appreciated in all four corners of the world. One part of the profits from the beer´s sale is destined to support the monastery, the other is distributed to charities and for the community development around the region.
Chimay is not only remarkable for the beer´s special taste, but also for the spirit and values that embodies.

Maredsous beers represent the rich Benedictine tradition. Patience, devotion and hospitality, the values of Maredsous abbey, still live on the beers they brew. The three abbey ales stand out because of their refined flowery-fruity aroma and the delicate sparkle. These ales undergo natural re-fermentation in the bottle, which adds more maturation and depth to its special and delicate taste.
Since 1963 Maredsous is part of the famous Duvel Moortgat, but without forgetting its authentic abbey connection. The beers are brewed following a best kept secret: Father Atout´s recipe carefully preserved in the abbey´s library. But not only follows the original Benedictine recipe - of artisan brewing with the finest ingredients and highest quality standards - but also the Benedictine philosophy.
As a result, a large proportion of the profits made from the beer sales, goes to charity. That can only add to the pleasure of experiencing a Maredsous beer.

While most lagers give away most of their taste profile in the front of the mouth, Pilsner Urquell only hints at its flavour there. Instead, it develops you in the middle, followed by a refreshing, clean finish and balanced aftertaste, practically inviting you to have another.
The first batch of beer was brewed on 5th October 1842. Five weeks later, on 11th November, the beer was first drunk in the town. A golden beer – the world’s first golden beer – it was fresh, clear and refreshing with a hint of caramel sweetness and a fragrant, balanced hop bitterness. It was an immediate success and a proud moment for the city of Plzen. Since that day the recipe has remained the same.
